Coding / Computer Instructor: what AI changes and what stays

Teaching people to code is getting squeezed from both directions at once: AI is unusually good at explaining and debugging code, and fewer junior developer jobs waiting at the end of a bootcamp means fewer people signing up to learn in the first place.

Shift your value toward the parts of teaching that are about people, not syntax: reading a room, coaching career-changers through stress, and running project-based cohorts where judgment matters more than lecture content. Being demonstrably good at using AI tools yourself, and teaching students to work with them rather than around them, is also worth building now.
