Budgets, contracts and promotional copy for a show are now largely AI's job to draft. What's left for a promoter is the part that was always hardest to systemize: negotiating directly with an artist or venue, and having a feel for what will actually sell tickets.

Which parts of putting on a show does AI take over first?

Drafting a budget, building a schedule, writing contract language and producing promotional copy are all tasks AI now handles quickly, which is why support and coordination roles built around that paperwork are the first to shrink. The negotiation and relationship-building that actually gets a show booked hasn't moved to software at all.

Why does a promoter's job survive when the paperwork doesn't?

Negotiating directly with an artist, a venue and a sponsor over money and terms depends on relationships and trust that a document can't build on its own. On the day of the show, someone still has to run the room and solve whatever crisis comes up in real time, and someone still has to sense, ahead of any data, which act or show is actually going to sell.

Get real experience running an actual show day, since handling a live crisis under pressure is a skill you only build by doing it. Relationships with artists, venues and sponsors take years to build, so a program in arts or music business management that gets you real industry contacts early is worth more than comfort with planning software, which is becoming a given.
