What has AI already taken over on a food production line?
Deciding exact ingredient ratios and controlling filling speed is now largely automatic, run by software tuning the machines in real time rather than a worker adjusting knobs by hand. What's left is the wet, unpredictable side: washing down equipment, clearing a jam when the line stops, and catching a hygiene problem a sensor doesn't flag.
Why does headcount fall gradually rather than in one jump?
A stoppage, a hygiene issue or a jammed filler happens differently every time, so a crew still has to be present on every shift even as the routine running of the line becomes hands-off. What should a food-plant worker learn as lines get more automated?
