What part of a security test is already automated?
Scanning a system for known types of flaws and even trying to exploit them automatically is already something an autonomous tool does on its own, without a person running each check by hand. That has already turned the routine, checklist-style test into something a tool runs largely by itself.
What still needs a creative, human attacker?
Trying an odd, creative path a scanner wouldn't think to guess, calling or emailing an employee while pretending to be someone else to see if they hand over a password, and explaining a break-in to a team without making them feel attacked all need a person thinking and talking like one.
How does someone break into ethical hacking?
