A music degree covers two very different livelihoods: composing or arranging for hire, and performing or teaching in person. AI tools are already stepping into paid arranging and background-scoring work, while private lessons and live performance still depend on a musician playing or teaching in the room.

Which music jobs does AI take over first?

That is where paid work for new graduates is thinning first.
