Arts management combines paperwork like grant writing and box-office reports with people-facing work like running an event and managing artist relationships. AI drafting tools are already producing usable grant applications, promotional copy, and reports, which is exactly the entry-level staff work organizations used to hire assistants to do, while running a show on-site stays with people.
What arts-management tasks does AI already handle?
Writing a grant application, drafting promotional copy, and putting together a box-office report are largely document tasks, and AI tools can already produce a usable first version of each. That is exactly the kind of entry-level work assistants at arts organizations used to be hired for. Running an event on-site and managing relationships with artists and donors are a different kind of work that a document tool can't replace.
What actually slows this change down?
There is no license protecting this field, so the main thing holding entry-level hiring up is on-site work: someone still has to be physically present to run an event, solve a problem in the room, and manage a relationship with an artist or donor over time.
